What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Matthew 25: 31-46
“I had the most extraordinary experience once in Bombay. There was a big conference about hunger. I was supposed to go to that meeting, and I lost the way. Suddenly I came to that place and right in front of the door to where hundreds of people were talking about food and hunger, I found a dying man. I took him out and took him home. He died there, He died from hunger. And the people inside were talking about how in 15 years we will have so much food, so much this, so much that, and that man died. See the difference.” (Mother Teresa of Calcutta)
Jesus reminds us that on the day of accountability we won’t be asked about our church size, our job positions, or our bank accounts. We will be asked what did we do with the gifts and graces that we have been given? Did we feed the hungry or talk about hunger? Because we are His disciples, Jesus empowers and equips us to do something about the problems in our world. We forever remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for our spiritual freedom. Therefore, we know that it’s not only about church work, it’s about the work of the church. On last week we celebrated Jesus’ Resurrection on the third day after His death. We know what to do on Easter Sunday, but what will we do on the fourth day, the day after Easter?
Heavenly Father, today we give thanks for the Mother Teresa’s in our lives that remind us that faith without works is dead. Father help us to see opportunities for ministry around us as we focus on the needs of others and the mission and purpose of our callings. Our desire is to hear you say, well done good and faithful servant.
Shalom
