The North Alabama Conference of The United Methodist Church will gather under the leadership of Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett on June 22nd-24th at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Pastors and lay delegates representing approximately 650 churches will gather to conduct annual business such as credentialing new clergy, adopting the conference budget, and electing clergy and laity to serve on various conference committees.

Center Grove will be represented by our senior pastor, Rev. Dr. Dedric Cowser, who will be serving in his sixth year as the Conference Secretary; our associate pastors, Rev. Ruth Smith, and Rev. Marian Royston; and our lay delegates, Damien Green and Ambria Lankford.

Other Center Grove members who serve on conference committees and vote at Annual Conference include Sara Bradley (Disabilities Ministries Chairperson), Olene McGowen (United Women In Faith Past President), Jahazy Rooks (Personnel Committee), Dr. Wilma Ruffin-Bracy (Pension & Health Benefits Committee), and Gayle Williams (Pension & Health Benefits Committee).

Center Grove will also be highly represented as Brittany Green will receive the Louise Branscomb Barrier Breaker Award during the Commission on the Status & Role of Women (COSROW) Breakfast for her service to the National Coalition of Black Women, her advocacy for women of color in health care, and her commitment to health and safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Pastor Royston will serve as the keynote speaker for the breakfast.
