A Note From Our Pastor
“The Importance of God’s Word”

One of the most important things that we can do as a congregation is, study God’s Holy Word. I believe that God’s Word inspires, sustains, convicts, and transforms us into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ for work within the Body of Christ. In the words of the Psalmist, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105, KJV).

During the Season of Lent, we will be studying the seven final statements of Jesus from the cross, as recorded by the Gospels. On Sundays, you will hear a sermon by one of our pastors on one of the statements, and then on Wednesdays beginning March 9th, at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to join us in a time of discussion on that week’s sermon via Zoom. To frame our time together, we will utilize Final Words from the Cross, a book by Adam Hamilton, a United Methodist pastor in Leawood, Kansas. You may purchase the book from Amazon; however, if you are unable to receive a copy of the book, please do not let that stop you from participating in the discussion. Simply put, God’s Word will be primary in what we discuss, so as long as you have a Bible, you have everything you need.

Once you register, please take a moment to invite others to our discussion. We pray that these statements will deepen our understanding of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us and strengthen our commitment to follow Him in this season and beyond.

Blessings,
Pastor Cowser
