A Note From Our Pastor |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank You! Our church continues to reach higher heights by God’s grace and through the generosity of our members and ministry partners. As I write this note, I am mindful of so many amazing things that God allowed us to be a part of at Center Grove in 2022: 9 individuals became members either by profession of faith, transfer of membership, associate membership, or restoration of membership Average worship attendance increased from 33 in 2021 to 66 in 2022 (In the final quarter of 2022, our average was 75, which is 50% of our pre-pandemic attendance. I am grateful we are growing, and I know we can reach 100 soon!) Reached 28,400 people through Facebook/Instagram videos, pictures, posts, and advertisements and 7,800 YouTube channel views Relaunched in-person VBS, Children’s Church, Sunday School, and Adult Bible Study Hosted hundreds of people from the community for the Easter Egg Hunt & Fall Festival Celebrated 5 high school graduates with graduation gifts Supported QuadW young adult interns that did mission work in the community Provided backpacks and supplies to students at the beginning of the school year Touched the lives of several children with gifts through the Annual Angel Tree mission project and provided holiday meals for those families Collected nonperishable food items for a monthly donation to Lakeside Food Pantry and bottle caps for resources and supplies at Ridgecrest Elementary School Provided sponsorships for community agencies like The Legacy Center for Senior Adults As we enter a new year, there is one thing that I know for certain and that is God wants to do even greater things through us. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us” (CEB). During the month of January, I am preaching on how our generosity not only enables us to reach more people for Jesus Christ, but it helps to bring about real and relevant change in our own lives and community. My prayer is that we will each be challenged to examine our heart and prepare to take the next faithful step in our generosity. To help us in the process, I have developed the “2023 Celebration of Generosity Form” (click here to download), to be utilized as a prayer and reflection tool to discern your financial commitment to the Kingdom of God. As I reminded the congregation on Sunday, we will NOT ask for these forms back NOR will we ask that you disclose the information to the church. Our only hope is that you will prayerfully consider taking the next faithful step in your generosity towards God and others in 2023. In closing, I simply say: “Thank you!” Please know that you are loved and that we are counting on your continued prayers, participation, and support, as we seek to be an irresistible light in the community winning souls for Jesus Christ. Grateful to be your pastor, Dr. Dedric A. Cowser Senior Pastor |
