Learn & Lead Workshops
On Saturday, February 28, United Methodists throughout North Alabama will gather at Cullman First UMC for a day of worship, learning, connection, and equipping to enhance our churches’ disciple-making ministries.
- Check in begins at 9 a.m
- Event begins at 9:30 a.m.
Participants will be able to attend three workshop sessions of their choosing.
Workshop topics include (with more being added!):
- Reimagining the use of your church building and land presented by RootedGood
- Disaster Response Planning led by Conference Disaster Coordinator Rev. Chris Ackerman
- Local Church Finances led by Conference CFO Neil Campbell
- A Continuing Education Session for Local Pastors led by Executive Director of United Counseling Rev. Monica Harbarger
- Solidarity with the Sojourners Ministry (Immigration Ministry) led by Rev. Dr. Kevin Thomas and Paulette West
- Evangelism Ideas
- Men’s Ministry
- Poverty Action Ministry
- Children’s Ministry
- AND MORE!
The schedule will allow participants to explore a variety of topics or follow a specific “strand” designed to equip them in particular ministry areas, including:
- Advocacy for Social Justice
- Children’s Ministry
- Discipleship Leaders
- Licensed Local Pastors
The day will culminate with an inspiring session called Stories We Lived, featuring North Alabama United Methodists from churches of all sizes. Presenters will share a “lightning round” of five-minute stories showcasing fruitful ministries from their churches, providing new and proven ideas for all participants.
The registration cost includes lunch, snacks, and materials:
- $20 per person.
- $150 for a group of 10 from your congregation.
