Black History Month
During the month of February, Center Grove United Methodist Church will observe Black History Month under the theme “A Century of Black History Commemoration,” marking 100 years of recognizing Black history in our nation. Each Sunday, we will reflect on the African American journey in America—naming the pain, affirming identity, celebrating growth, and honoring a legacy that propels the future.
We invite everyone to participate by wearing attire that reflects each week’s focus:
First Sunday: Wear Red to honor the pain and sacrifice
Second Sunday: Wear Black to affirm identity and dignity
Third Sunday: Wear Green and Yellow to celebrate growth and hope
Fourth Sunday: Wear African Attire as we honor legacy and heritage
We encourage you to join us fully—through worship, reflection, and participation—as we remember the past and recommit ourselves to the future God is calling us to build together. As we watch the weather this weekend, let us remain grounded in faith and wisdom. God is our refuge and strength—steady in every storm. Please stay safe, stay connected, and look for updates as needed.
