What’s Happening at CG 6/29/2022

A Note From Our Pastor
“GO! Identify, Intercede, Invest and Invite”Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”Matthew 28:19 (CEB) It is hard to believe, that this week begins my third year as Senior Pastor at Center Grove. One question that several church members continue to ask me is: “How can I help the church?” I typically respond by saying: “Keep growing to be more like Jesus and invite everyone you know and meet into a relationship with Him.” As a matter of fact, our primary mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ.I am excited that we are blessed once again with two outstanding associate pastors who will assist me with the ministries and leadership of the church. The Rev. Ruth J. Smith will begin her 18th year as Associate Pastor at Center Grove, and I am grateful for Pastor Ruth’s wisdom and prayerful spirit. She will continue to lead in the areas of Congregational Care, Seasoned Saints Ministry, and Lay Speaking Ministries. The Rev. Marian Royston will begin her 2nd year as Associate Pastor at Center Grove. Pastor Royston brings a wealth of experience from several years in the field of education and her passion for community development. She will lead in the areas of Missions, Outreach, and Community Engagement. As we begin another year, I am inviting each member of Center Grove to participate in what I am calling “The 4 x 4 Challenge.” You may be asking: “What is The 4 x 4 Challenge?” I would like for each member to join me in doing 4 things this year: (1) identify, (2) intercede, (3) invest, and (4) invite… 4 people into a relationship with Jesus Christ through the ministries of our church. Simply put, 4 people, 4 steps! Since 4 x 4 = 16, we will set a goal to reach a minimum of 16 new people by July 2023. Honestly, if we all participate, we have the potential to reach more than 16 people for the Kingdom of God. Think about your friends, relatives, associates, neighbors, and even those you meet for the first time. Do they know Jesus? Do they need a loving church family? The Greater Huntsville Area is growing rapidly and I truly believe that those who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ and those who do not have a church home will find a loving family called Center Grove. In closing, I’m looking forward to another year! With another year, comes another level, because God has great things in store for us as we seek to be an irresistible light on a hill winning souls for Jesus Christ! Grateful to be your pastor,Pastor Cowser
