What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: 1 Chronicles 29:10-18
It’s not difficult to look at our lives, our homes, our bodies, our families, our jobs, our possessions and see just how blessed we are. With everything that we enjoy the most we can say, and the least we can say is, thank you Lord! Thanking God is not a perfunctory congratulations for having the good sense to give us what we ask for. Our thanks, is our way of saying to the one from whom all blessings flow, that we acknowledge His hand in providing every part of the abundance in which we live, receive and of which we do not deserve.
David’s prayer at the building of the Temple dedicated to God is one of the most beautiful prayers in all of scripture. He could have been angry at God’s decision not to allow him to build the Temple, but instead he blesses and thanks God for providing and supplying all of their needs. His praise to God reminds us of our attitude towards the one who is unchanging, unmovable, steadfast, and forever loving to His people. The body of the prayer, in verses 10-13, gives a magnificent tribute of adoration that we should replicate daily in remembrance to the awesome goodness of our God.
Father God, today we give you thanks for being the source of everything that we have. You have blessed us beyond measure, and we give you thanks and praise your glorious name.
