One of the most difficult things to do in what seems to be a hopeless situation, is to see the “silver lining.” As a matter of fact, I’ve never been one to go straight to a positive analysis of any difficult situation. Simply put, I always want to know “Why?” Many of us were taught that we should not ask God: “Why?” However, I have found that in my asking, I always seem to hear God speaking to me to give clarity to life’s situations. When I come before the Lord with my own human frailties and limitations, seeking His wisdom and understanding, He always seems to give me exactly what I need when I need it.
Our relationship with God allows us to rest in the assurance that God will take care of us. No matter where we find ourselves in life, even if we have gotten ourselves into that place, God has a way of bringing good out of every situation.
So, the next time you find yourself in “that place” of questioning, hear the words of Isaiah prophesying to a people searching for answers in their difficult situations: “For my [God’s] thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my [God’s] ways.” In our asking, we are also praying that God will lift us from “that place” of doubts and questions to a higher plane so that we can begin to see a glimpse of our life the way that He sees our life.
May we find comfort in knowing that God has a plan, so let us trust His ways and His thoughts for our lives.
