What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Acts 12: 1-17
The question that will be stated over and again will be, “Do you remember where you were when the coronavirus came?” Tens of thousands of lives lost, joblessness, economy in ruins, families torn apart, and a general sense of insecurity and fear during the relatively short period of time. People are seeking answers, but the thing that is the most requested, most offered, most needed and most practiced today is, prayer. Jim Cymbala, in his book Breakthrough Prayer, relates that there are two challenges believers face regarding the prayer of faith. 1) To believe that no situation, however evil or entrenched is beyond the scope of prayer. 2) The second challenge is waiting on God.
When the church commits to sincere God centered prayer, we will experience the power and presence of God into our captive places. We will discover that while the church is praying, God is working things out for His people. Before they can finish their prayers, God has answered their prayer, freed Peter and brought him back to them. After reading this, do you really want to tell God about your problem that is unsolvable, your situation that is unbearable and your mountain that is unmovable?
Heavenly Father, today I give you thanks for the opportunities to exercise the gift of prayer. I know that prayer works and what it can do to change things, people, and make the difference in the earth.
Shalom
Pastor Smith
