What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Joshua 1:1-9
The success of anything depends on its willingness to change, transition, evolve and transform. There is nothing we can do about it, change is inevitable. The question is, how do we engage God’s plan for our lives as we take the next step beyond our present circumstances. Author James Hudnut-Beumler said, “When a congregation can fondly remember where it has been, but does not see itself still journeying toward God, it has lost the nourishment it needs to sustain life.” In other words, who wants to be a part of something that has memory but no hope.
God reminds his people during their time of transition that He is about to write the next chapter of their faith story. They are getting ready to cross over into the land of God’s promise. God has brought them there; He will lead and take care of them. But, in order to make it into the new land, they will have to change their mindset from bondage in Egypt to freedom. They will have to trust God to overcome their obstacles, and they must be strong and courageous. As we enter into the new post pandemic land of promise, let us enter with the confidence that we are the people of promise and that our God is with us.
Heavenly Father, you blessed us, protected us, saved us, delivered us, fed us, and loved us, from change to change, throughout this pandemic crisis. Today, I am bold in my confession and courageous in my walk, for I am a child of the living God.
Shalom
