Read: Galatians 2:15-20
Life is full of recognizable events. But, the most recognizable event in history is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. To come into a world with one mission in mind; to save the world, and yet Jesus was hated, despised, and suffered an atrocious death, at the hands of the very people He came to save. Do we really appreciate what Jesus did for us? How can we get sidetracked with the busyness of our lives and forget the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and all that He accomplished during His life on earth?
The Apostle Paul reminds the believers in the church at Galatia that living for Jesus was not about legalism and bondage through the law. God is a God of freedom and that freedom comes through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. In freedom we discover three things. 1) Jesus lived for me. He is the model to show us how to live. 2) He died for me. His death freed us from the penalty of sin, doing what no one else could do. 3) One day He is coming back, for me! He’s going to receive unto Himself all those who have been set free.
Lord Jesus, thank you for making a way for me to be saved from the death of sin and giving me the gift of eternal life in you. Today, I affirm my life as a believer through the work of ministry and my faith in you.
