What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Romans 8:28-39
The COVID-19, coronavirus, has surely caused many to be overwhelmed by the circumstances that we find ourselves in. Job loss has caused financial and mental strain, children have lost valuable educational time, and businesses have lost revenue and customers. No amount of spin, or fake forecasting can take our minds off of what we have lost and may never recover. If believers in Jesus Christ didn’t have the assurance that comes from the Word of God, we too might be pulling out our hair and bowing down to the coronavirus with hopeless deference.
But, today’s reading gives us the Word that we need to bring calm in the midst of chaos and peace in the midst of confusion. Just reading that God works in all things, that we are more than conquerors and that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of our God! Wow, that’s shouting material and it let’s me know that God can, shall and He will make a way out of no way, virus, and all. Won’t He do it? Oh yes, He will. Just in case you missed it, verse 34 says, that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for us, He’s praying on our behalf! We are not overwhelmed, because we are overcomers.
Father, thank you for the victory that we have in you today and forever. Thank you that there is nothing that will separate us from your love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Shalom
Pastor Smith
