What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Proverbs 30:5-9
Everyone seems to want just a little bit more, but how much is enough? A very wealthy man was asked, how much is enough, to which he replied, just a little bit more. The wise one knows that if we have enough for today that we are blessed. They also know that there’s nothing profitable about gaining the whole world and losing your soul. Sometimes, God increases our income not to increase our standard of living, but to increase our standard of giving. Our desired goal is to learn how to be content. Then, we will joyfully share our resources for the glory of God’s work on earth.
Jesus said, in John 17:10, “All I have is yours and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.” Jesus is the revelation of God’s glory and we are the revealed glory of Jesus. We, His disciples, reflect His character and presence. When people see us, they see the presence of Jesus Christ, for we glorify Him. Lenten season is a time of reflection, renewal and restoration. It’s a time to look introspectively within ourselves and realize the awesome wonder of His presence that God brings to our lives.
Father, help us to learn to be content and to know that the secret to our contentment is that we can do all things through Christ who give us strength.
