What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read: Esther 4: 15-16
Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures. Sometimes we are thrust into positions in life that we didn’t ask for, nor do we want the responsibility. Nobody wanted the Coronavirus, or the inconvenience, sickness and disturbance in our lives that it has caused everyone. Yet, we are here, and we have to deal with the circumstances of being faced with a destructive force that is unrelenting and uncompromising.
Esther was called upon to stand up and deliver her people from a crisis situation at a time such as the one we are facing today.  She did not forsake her calling nor her responsibility. Her famous words, “if I perish, I perish”, are applicable today. We learn that God calls those who are willing and have the courage to be used when the time is right, no matter the cost.
During this crisis we are not only thinking about ourselves, but about others in our church and community. Those who are facing unemployment, financial ruin and unprecedented loss. There will be tough decisions to make and tough actions to take.  Actions that will require the courage and fortitude that can only come from those committed to serving God. There are times to pray about it, but now is the time to be about it!
Today, Lord God, we ask that you give us the courage to stand no matter what the cost when fear and danger invades our lives.
Shalom
Pastor Smith
