What’s Happening at CG?

Daily Devotional

Read Psalm 94
I must admit, one of the easiest and sometimes fulfilling things to do is, complain. Complaining absolves me from any responsibility and accountability because complaining is saying something is wrong. I can always see the fault in someone else’s decisions when I complain. But in reality, complaining doesn’t free me, it binds me. Instead of complaining I should be doing the opposite which is claiming. Complaining prevents me from seeing the blessings, assurance and freedom that God has for me. The Psalmist here is complaining. He’s complaining about bad people, about being in captivity, about how God is not doing something about his situation. Then he remembers where his help comes from, who has delivered him from the hands of the enemy, time after time. He says, “When I said, “My foot is slipping.” Your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy”. Psalm 94:18-19.

Today we are reminded that although wicked may seem to be advancing, we must know that the God who planted the ear hears you and the God who formed the eye sees you and the God who disciplines the nations will chastise. Be encouraged that the Lord will not forsake His people nor abandon His heritage.

Update to Huntsville City Schools Meal Services

In an effort to remove transportation barriers for children, H.C.S. is using school buses to deliver free meals to students in select neighborhoods around the city. Through the district’s partnership with the Apple Bus Company, H.C.S. is expanding the reach of its community meal distribution program by delivering breakfasts and lunches to students 18 and under. Students are invited to “Look for the bus, listen for the horn, and receive a free meal.” Buses will be driving slowly through the distribution areas and announcing their arrival by sounding their horns. Meals will be handed to students from the school bus door.
Meals will be delivered weekdays between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the following areas:

  • Cherokee Bend Apartments
  • Squaw Valley Apartments
  • Edmonton Heights Housing Community
  • Meadow Hills Housing Community
  • Northwoods Homes
  • Shady Grove Mobile Homes
  • Merrimac Manor Mobile Homes
  • This service will last through Friday, March 27, 2020.
