What’s Happening at CG 3/11/2020

What’s Happening at CG?

Coronavirus disease 2019 is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, a virus closely related to the SARS virus. The disease is the cause of the 2019-2020 coronavirus outbreak. It passes from one person to others by respiratory droplets produced from the airways, often during coughing or sneezing. Time from exposure to onset of symptoms is generally between 2 and 14 days. Symptoms are: Fever, cough, and shortness of breath are the most common.
Center Grove is regularly sanitizing common areas in the church to prevent transmissions. Hand sanitizer is located in these areas in the church: vestibule, classrooms, and office areas. We ask that you pray for those affected by the virus and for God to protect, heal, and keep us during these times.
Healthy Practices for Individuals:
  • Wash hands often throughout the day.
  • Use alcohol-based liquid hand sanitizer several times a day.
  • Limit handshakes and hugs. People will understand during this time of increasing virus awareness.
  • Consider postponing long trips, especially international travel.
  • Cough into your bent elbow rather than hands.
  • Be a spacious person. Determine if it is not necessary to be in close proximity of someone to have a conversation.
  • Do not wear a mask if you are not sick.
  • Do not wait, seek medical attention if you suspect that you have any of the symptoms. An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

It’s Time For Harambee!

(Youth Ages 12-18; Grades 7-12)
The word Harambee is South African in origin and means “Let’s pull together.” This event’s purpose is to be a celebration of gifts, talents, and willing hearts of ethnic United Methodist youth. These events also focus on helping youth and young adults understand BMCR’s history, purpose, and focus on equipping and supporting Christian youth.
Besides great music, praise, drama, dancing, delicious food, prayer and Bible study, youth have opportunities for creative expressions—talent shows, skits, games—mission work, youth-led worship services and activities, and much more. Youth learn leadership qualities that help them become better students and better Christians in a fun, no-pressure, relaxing way.
