What’s Happening at CG?

A Note From Pastor Cowser

“Lord, Teach us to Pray”

“Love Beyond the Walls”
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free. -Luke 4:18 (NIV)-

Those of us who follow Jesus Christ are on a life-long journey of learning to fall deeper in love with Him and those around us each day. Our love for Christ and others should not only compel us to be transformed, but it should also be evident in every area and place that we find ourselves in life. Simply put, the love of Jesus Christ has the power to transform the world, if we are willing to be used as a vessel for transformation. If you read the Gospels, it does not take very long to realize that Jesus was always going-out from the temple to do ministry by sharing God’s love. Jesus did not only worship and teach in the temple, but he was also a person on the move—loving beyond the walls.

Now, like never before, our world needs to experience the transforming power of God’s love. I believe we must return to the foundation of our faith that requires us to demonstrate this radical love to everyone that we know and meet. Simply put, we too have been called and anointed to “proclaim good news to the poor, proclaim freedom for those who are prisoners, recover the sight of the blind, and set the oppressed free.” I don’t know about you, but I know I have more room to grow as it relates to the call of God upon my life. My prayer today and every day is, Lord, use me as your vessel and help me to love the way that you love.

Blessings,
Pastor Cowser
