What’s Happening at CG?

A Note From Pastor Cowser

“Lord, Teach us to Pray”

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’ –Luke 11:1 (NIV)
In his book, Pray Like Jesus: Rediscovering the Lord’s Prayer, Don Underwood argues that the most famous prayer in the world, the Lord’s Prayer, can be recited in less than thirty seconds; however, the power of the prayer has been lost in our generation. The Lord’s Prayer is simple and brief, but I believe it is filled with a treasure of theological and spiritual meaning.
When was the last time you prayed the Lord’s Prayer? Have you ever really stopped to meditate on the beauty and meaning of each word and phrase? If not, no worries! Over the next few weeks, we will journey together as a congregation to rediscover the power of the Lord’s Prayer. I invite you to join us live at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday beginning January 24th on our website, Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo pages as we begin a new sermon series entitled “When You Pray.” Our hope is that following the series we not only have a deeper sense of the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer but a closer relationship with God, the one whom we call: Our Father.
In Christ,
Pastor Cowser
