A Note From Pastor Cowser
It is hard for me to believe that this week marks the beginning of my 10th year of pastoral ministry. I remember the anxiety that I felt the very first time I stood in the pulpit, but I also remember the joy that came from proclaiming God’s Word. Interestingly, these are emotions that I still experience to this day. I have come to realize that the call of God is a beautiful blessing, but also a tremendous responsibility. Through these years, I am most grateful for God’s grace that has sustained me and allowed me the privilege to walk alongside people in their moments of celebration, but also moments of sorrow.
People often ask me about my call into the ministry and I always point back to the times I “played church” with my grandmother and cousins in the front yard as a young boy. Although I could not fully explain it then, I felt something powerful pulling and nudging me. At the beginning of this new year, my prayer is that God will keep pulling and nudging me as I press toward the mark. I have grown a lot since this first picture from my very first appointment in 2011, but I look forward to what God has in store for me. #graceupongrace
