“It’s Harvest Time!”

May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. -Psalm 126:5-6 (NRSV)

This year has been a challenging year for many of us. The COVID-19 pandemic has touched us all in some way, and we are certainly living in different times. One thing that has encouraged me in this season is the steadfast faith of God’s people called Center Grove. I have heard countless testimonies from many of you of how your faith in God, and hope for the future, has grown stronger in these last several months.

I am writing to announce our 2020 Annual Harvest Celebration. This year’s theme will be “Kept: For Such a Time as This”based on Psalm 126. Psalm 126 is a testimony of Israel’s hope for the future after coming out of a time of exile. This year has certainly seemed like a time of exile for many of us, but I believe we have been kept for a purpose and plan.

Our 33rd Youth Harvest Celebration will be Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. and our 77th Church Harvest will be Sunday, November 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. In keeping with our Harvest Tradition, the Harvest Souvenir Book will still be available this year—in print and digital. Advertisements may be purchased for: encouragement; fraternity and sorority; college and university; businesses; in memory or in honor of a loved one; church committees and auxiliaries. In addition to purchasing advertisements, we are also asking each member, who is able, to contribute above their regular tithes and offerings toward a Special Harvest Offering.

In closing, thank you for the many ways you continue to support the ministries of Center Grove. I am truly amazed by the ways that the members and friends of our church go over and beyond to bless our church, our ministries, and our community.
