Farmers to Families
Eli Brooks from Daystar Church posted the following bulletin message: “Spread the word! Farmers to Families food box distribution is THIS Thursday!
Boxes will be available at Madison City Stadium (211 Celtic Dr. Madison) Thursday 2/18 and Monday 2/22 starting at 9:30AM. Boxes must be picked up no later than 12:00 PM in order to guarantee freshness. We have PLENTY for everyone!!
Farmers to Families” is a $4 billion provision of the Cares Act. Through this act, the federal government is purchasing food from US farmers and giving it to families to ensure that the food does not go to waste and that families are helped out during the pandemic.
Daystar Church, in partnership with the Madison City Schools, Farmers to Families, Faith-Based Coalition, and the USDA, is serving as a POD (place of distribution) for these fresh food boxes. Each foodbox contains healthy perishable food products such as pre-cooked chicken or pork, dairy products, and assorted fruit and vegetables.
They are available to all families on a first come, first served basis. Families need not show any proof of need or identification.
NOTE: Monday 2/22 is our final distribution for this round of Farmers to Families.
Thanks!
Pastor Eli Brooks”

A Note From Pastor Cowser

“Lord, Teach us to Pray”
“Love Beyond the Walls”
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free. -Luke 4:18 (NIV)-
Those of us who follow Jesus Christ are on a life-long journey of learning to fall deeper in love with Him and those around us each day. Our love for Christ and others should not only compel us to be transformed, but it should also be evident in every area and place that we find ourselves in life. Simply put, the love of Jesus Christ has the power to transform the world, if we are willing to be used as a vessel for transformation. If you read the Gospels, it does not take very long to realize that Jesus was always going-out from the temple to do ministry by sharing God’s love. Jesus did not only worship and teach in the temple, but he was also a person on the move—loving beyond the walls.
Now, like never before, our world needs to experience the transforming power of God’s love. I believe we must return to the foundation of our faith that requires us to demonstrate this radical love to everyone that we know and meet. Simply put, we too have been called and anointed to “proclaim good news to the poor, proclaim freedom for those who are prisoners, recover the sight of the blind, and set the oppressed free.” I don’t know about you, but I know I have more room to grow as it relates to the call of God upon my life. My prayer today and every day is, Lord, use me as your vessel and help me to love the way that you love.
Blessings,
Pastor Cowser
